Fulfilling the call to come alongside Christian parents in the homeschooling of their children, the LCLC approaches K-12 education through three, ungraded classrooms – Learning to read; Reading improvement, learning logic, arithmetic mastery; Advanced reading, research, rhetoric, and higher math. The Learning Center also provides one day each week wherein students will learn Latin and engage the Fine Arts, Home Economics, and Home Mechanics (shop).

With its foundation upon the creation of all mankind in the image of God and for a purpose, the clear and present goal of this Learning Center is to provide opportunities for children and young adults to learn about the gifts and abilities given them by their Creator. The vision of our Landmark teaching team is to guide their students in the development of these gifts and abilities in daily life and in the life-long service of Jesus Christ.

Just as learning to read, write, and compute well are important, so the Christian young person must also develop his or her abilities in relationship to other Christians. The Learning Center provides opportunities for the students to engage one another in games, competitions, and in public performances. In learning the art of communication and fellowship, one learns also to listen and to clearly convey the message that is placed on one’s heart. Not to mention that a healthy competition can spur the student on to greater achievement and perhaps to vital lessons in graciousness.

The method whereby a useful education begins with learning to read. This process begins with the alphabet, grammar, spelling, and the growth of vocabulary, based upon correct pronunciation (Grammar School). Building upon a foundation of reading well, increased understanding and integration of what one is reading, from multiple sources on multiple subjects, is then fostered as well as the ability to compute (Logic School). Finally, the ability of a student to articulate to others clearly what one has learned and believes is critical for the Christian, who is called to do so in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is also critical in the keeping of our republican form of government, keeping in mind that where the Spirit of the Lord is,…there is freedom. 2 Chronicles 7:14
